It all started when a group of neighbors got together to help fix problems in our community. Our neighborhood needed a lift. We needed to clean up and build up. Our group of semi-retired "can do" people came together to bring about change but we knew it started with getting to know each other and finding common ground and solutions to help get things done.
Serenity garden initiative:
Melosong C.I.T.Y our non profit operating in England AR is the sponsor of the Ollie Woodard/ Cassie Stewart Serenity Garden located on the corner of Hickory and Washington Ave. in England. The non-profit’s mission is to provide quality of life offerings to our community. The first initiative is the the Woodard Stewart Serenity Garden which has been a few years in development. Get involved in planning & programming for our community garden for wards 3 & 4.
Join us in transforming our community by getting involved in planning, planting, and programming for our garden! Here's why you should participate:
1. Help create green spaces that benefit both our neighbors and the environment.
2. Connect with like-minded people who share your passion for community involvement and sustainability.
3. Contribute to the beautification and improvement of our community.
4. Gain valuable skills in growing and harvesting locally grown food.
5. Experience the satisfaction of seeing your ideas come to life and making a positive impact.
WE NEED YOUR SKILLS:
Whether you're interested in organizing events, designing garden spaces, or simply lending a helping hand, there's a place for you in our community initiatives. Let's work together to create a vibrant and sustainable future for our community. Growing food changes lives.
Our Serenity garden will feature:
1. Locally grown healthy vegetables and fruits
2. Medicinal herbs
3. A fruit tree orchard
4. Physical activity and circuit 5. A solid surface walking trail for all- including the mobility challenged
6. Concerts and outdoor games for the whole family
7. Information for better living
